'Inquiry will take too long, residents will lose homes'

The inquiry, launched recently to shine a light on inflating insurance premiums in the region, is expected to alleviate much of the distress the price hikes are causing residents. The ACCC expects its large-scale inquiry to deliver a final report by November 2020, but that date has raised serious concerns within the strata sector.

New and additional penalties for unlicensed building work (likely to commence in November 2018), now include for repeated offences up to 1 year’s imprisonment or a hefty fine of up to approximately $44,000.00.
