June 2021 Newsletter

Welcome to the June edition of Tower News.

As we put this newsletter together we are getting news of the developing Covid situation in Queensland. This may cause some disruption to the Tower office with the likelihood that staff will work from home and meetings moved online where possible. Your patience during this period will be appreciated. For the latest updates on COVID-19, we refer you to the Queensland COVID-19 update page.

Last month Tower Body Corporate reached out to its contacts, asking them to complete a survey about body corporate living. We were delighted to get 191 responses and thank everyone who took the time to respond.

Almost one in five Australians now live in a strata title property. However, despite its importance in our lives, information about how people feel about their buildings is still relatively thin on the ground. The broad outlines are understood, but many of the finer details about how body corporate living affects their lives still need to be filled in.

Tower’s survey was a small step towards that, and in this month’s newsletter, we share the results and consider what you can do to help manage the number one concern of owners: rising costs.

Sign up for Levies and Notices via Email

We continue to encourage as many owners as possible to sign up to receive levies and notices by email. Unfortunately, the post is slow and inconsistent at the moment while emails are fast and guaranteed. Signing up also helps save your plan money as distribution costs lower. We need to receive notification in writing to make the change 'Please send my notices/levies by email' is sufficient.
